Hi Teresa, In response to your OACA request: We, too, find a probate trial a rarity. My judge took the bench in 2011 and we have had 2 or 3 since that time which caused me to do some research. See my notes in the attachment. Further reference ORC Chapter 2313, and specifically 2313.22 regarding fees. In regard to the drinks/snacks/possible meal question, we chalk that up to office supplies for those incidental costs. If you were in the habit of having jury trials regularly as common pleas does, then of course requesting a line item to be added to the budget by the commissioners would not be out of the question.
